With Vinyl Vibes Sundays, Authentic High End continues its curated listening sessions dedicated to discovering great music on vinyl, reproduced on reference analog systems.

For this second episode, Danny Tielemans takes us on a journey through the roots and evolution of The Blues — from the raw, intimate atmosphere of the juke joints of the Mississippi Delta to the electrified energy of the big city blues.

The blues began as a deeply personal expression, shaped by voices and guitars in small wooden rooms, dusty roads and late-night gatherings. Artists like Robert Johnson, Son House and Skip James defined the haunting sound of country blues — sparse, direct and emotionally powerful.

As musicians moved north, the blues moved with them. In Chicago, the music became louder, electric and urban. Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Willie Dixon and Buddy Guy transformed the blues into something bigger, laying the foundation for modern blues and influencing generations of musicians.

During this session, Danny will explore this musical journey — pairing early acoustic recordings with their electrified counterparts, revealing how the blues evolved from intimate storytelling into a powerful urban sound.

All music will be played from great vinyl pressings and carefully selected audiophile reissues, reproduced through Authentic’s reference analog systems.
