The Singer and the Music

Hosted by Danny Tielemans

At Authentic High End, music always comes first.
With our new Vinyl Vibes Sundays, we invite you to slow down, sit back, and rediscover the magic of great records played on truly exceptional audio systems.

For this first episode, jazz lover and vinyl connoisseur Danny Tielemans takes us into the timeless world of The Great American Songbook.

For decades, jazz musicians have turned to the immortal tunes of composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Frank Loesser, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. Songs that were brought to life by legendary voices like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong, and later reimagined by instrumental giants from the swing, bebop and hard bop eras.

Think of Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk and many more — musicians who took these melodies and lifted them to breathtaking musical heights.

And sometimes the journey went the other way around: adventurous singers began vocalising the wild bebop lines of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, turning instrumental improvisations back into voice.

During this session, Danny will guide us through vocal and instrumental interpretations of the same songs, pairing legendary singers with iconic jazz instrumentalists.

But above all, this session is simply a celebration of great music played the way it was meant to be heard — on original vinyl pressings and carefully selected audiophile reissues, reproduced through Authentic’s reference analog systems.

  • A handful of unforgettable records.

  • And a room filled with music.

Welcome to the first Vinyl Vibes Sunday.
