Luxman Amplifiers
Solid-state reference preamplification, taken to its purest form
The Luxman C-10X is Luxman’s reference solid-state control amplifier, designed as the natural counterpart to the M-10X power amplifier.
It represents Luxman’s most advanced thinking on signal control, noise suppression and musical neutrality — without relying on valves or tonal coloration.
At Authentic High End, the C-10X is the preamplifier we recommend when absolute transparency, stability and long-term reliability are the priorities — especially in high-resolution systems where nothing should be added or softened.
Positioning Within Luxman
The C-10X sits at the top of Luxman’s Premium Reference range for solid-state control amplification.
Where the CL-1000 explores ultimate purity through vacuum tubes, the C-10X pursues the same goal through advanced solid-state design, offering:
greater operational stability
extremely low noise
absolute consistency over time
It is designed for listeners who want reference performance with a modern, maintenance-free approach.
Design Philosophy: The Control Amplifier as a Precision Instrument
Luxman designed the C-10X with the belief that a preamplifier should behave like a perfectly linear control device.
Every design decision aims to:
preserve signal integrity
suppress noise and interference
maintain phase accuracy
avoid any form of tonal imprint
The result is a preamplifier that does not “voice” the system, but reveals the character of sources, amplifiers and loudspeakers with complete honesty.
LIFES: Reference-Grade Feedback Architecture
At the heart of the C-10X lies Luxman’s latest generation LIFES (Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System).
LIFES is designed to:
reduce distortion across the full signal bandwidth
maintain stability under dynamic conditions
avoid the overdamping effects of conventional feedback
In the C-10X, this results in sound that is:
fast yet relaxed
detailed yet composed
dynamically free
Music feels controlled, but never constrained.
Precision Volume Control
Volume control is one of the most critical elements of any preamplifier.
The C-10X uses Luxman’s high-precision attenuator system, designed to:
minimise sound quality degradation at low and moderate levels
maintain excellent channel balance
provide a smooth and confident operating feel
This ensures that musical scale, tonal balance and timing remain intact — regardless of listening level.
Listening Experience
The Luxman C-10X sounds transparent, stable and unforced.
Listeners typically notice:
a very low noise floor
improved separation without fragmentation
precise, confident dynamics
excellent coherence across complex musical passages
Rather than drawing attention to detail, the C-10X improves musical intelligibility and flow, making it easier to follow phrasing, rhythm and emotional intent.
System Integration & Use Cases
The C-10X is designed for serious high-end systems:
multiple line-level analogue inputs
balanced and unbalanced connections
ideal partner for high-performance power amplifiers
excellent match for active loudspeakers
It excels in systems where the preamplifier is the central authority, defining signal quality for everything downstream.
Design & Build Quality
The C-10X reflects Luxman’s most advanced mechanical execution:
rigid, resonance-controlled chassis
meticulously laid-out internal architecture
premium components selected for long-term stability
modern Luxman reference design language
Everything about the C-10X communicates precision, calm and permanence.
Why We Selected the C-10X at Authentic High End
We selected the C-10X because it demonstrates how far solid-state preamplification has evolved when musical priorities guide engineering decisions.
In our Brussels listening rooms, it consistently proves that neutrality does not mean sterility — when done right, it means clarity, authority and emotional honesty.
Reference tube preamplification, purity before everything
The Luxman CL-1000 is Luxman’s statement vacuum-tube control amplifier, created with a single goal:
to pass the musical signal unchanged, uncompressed and emotionally intact.
At Authentic High End, the CL-1000 holds a very special position. It is Steve’s favourite preamplifier, and the one he consistently returns to — especially when driving active ATC loudspeakers. In that configuration, the CL-1000 shows just how powerful a truly transparent control amplifier can be: it adds nothing, yet gives everything.
Positioning Within Luxman
The CL-1000 sits at the very top of Luxman’s Premium Reference range and represents the brand’s most purist interpretation of a preamplifier.
Unlike feature-rich control units, the CL-1000 is conceived as a signal conduit, not a system hub. It is designed for listeners who already know that the preamplifier is one of the most decisive components in a high-end system.
Design Philosophy: The Control Amplifier as a Straight Line
Luxman approached the CL-1000 with radical restraint.
The objective was not to create a “tube sound”, but to use vacuum tubes where they excel most:
in preserving linearity, micro-dynamics and tonal continuity.
Every design choice follows that principle:
minimal circuit complexity
extremely short signal paths
carefully stabilised operating points
absolute focus on signal integrity
The CL-1000 does not shape the music. It steps out of the way.
Vacuum Tube Architecture, Done Luxman’s Way
The CL-1000 uses a carefully selected vacuum-tube topology, chosen and voiced through extensive listening.
Rather than romantic warmth, the sound is:
open and immediate
harmonically complete
dynamically unrestrained
exceptionally quiet for a tube design
This makes the CL-1000 equally convincing with analogue sources, high-resolution digital playback and professional-grade active systems.
Volume Control Without Musical Loss
One of the most critical aspects of any preamplifier is volume control.
The CL-1000 uses a high-precision, transformer-based attenuator, developed to minimise signal loss and preserve channel balance at all listening levels. This approach avoids the sonic flattening often associated with conventional potentiometers or digital attenuation.
The result is a sense of scale and stability, even at low listening levels.
Listening Experience
The Luxman CL-1000 does not draw attention to itself.
Instead, listeners notice:
improved separation without fragmentation
more natural dynamics
better timing and phrasing
a stronger emotional connection to the music
With the CL-1000 in the system, recordings feel less reproduced and more intentional. This is especially evident in systems using active loudspeakers, where the preamplifier directly defines the quality of the entire signal chain.
Steve’s Reference: CL-1000 + Active ATC
For Steve, the CL-1000 is the perfect partner for active ATC speakers.
In this configuration, the CL-1000 acts as the sole control point between source and loudspeaker electronics. Its neutrality, low noise and dynamic freedom allow the ATCs to perform at their best — controlled, expressive and utterly honest.
This combination demonstrates that a great tube preamplifier does not soften or romanticise sound. When done right, it reveals intent and authority.
Design & Craftsmanship
The CL-1000 reflects Luxman’s highest standards of build quality:
rigid, resonance-controlled chassis
meticulously laid-out internal architecture
premium components selected for stability and longevity
understated, purposeful Luxman design
Everything about the CL-1000 communicates permanence and precision.
System Integration
The CL-1000 is designed for high-quality systems where purity matters most:
multiple line-level analogue inputs
balanced and unbalanced outputs
ideal partner for power amplifiers or active loudspeakers
optimised for both analogue and digital sources
It is not meant to manage complexity — it is meant to elevate quality.
Why We Selected the CL-1000 at Authentic High End
We selected the CL-1000 because it exemplifies what a reference preamplifier should be:
transparent
musically truthful
technically uncompromising
emotionally convincing
In our Brussels listening rooms, the CL-1000 consistently proves that when the control stage is right, everything downstream improves.
Reference power amplification, built for absolute control
The Luxman M-10X is Luxman’s reference solid-state power amplifier, designed to deliver absolute loudspeaker control while preserving musical flow and emotional intent.
At Authentic High End, the M-10X is the amplifier we rely on when a system demands uncompromised authority, scale and stability — whether driving high-resolution passive loudspeakers or forming the backbone of a true reference system.
Positioning Within Luxman
The M-10X sits at the top of Luxman’s Premium Reference range for power amplification and is conceived as the natural partner to the C-10X reference preamplifier.
Together, they form Luxman’s most advanced solid-state separates — designed for listeners who want:
maximum loudspeaker control
absolute neutrality
long-term reliability and consistency
The M-10X is not voiced for effect. It is engineered for certainty.
Design Philosophy: Power Without Force
Luxman does not equate power with aggression.
The M-10X is designed to deliver high current and stability without tension or hardness. Its role is not to add character, but to ensure that loudspeakers respond instantly and proportionally to the musical signal they receive.
Every aspect of the design focuses on:
stable operation under complex loads
linear behaviour across the entire frequency range
low noise and thermal consistency
The result is power that feels calm, controlled and deeply musical.
LIFES: Reference-Grade Amplification Engine
At the heart of the M-10X lies Luxman’s latest LIFES (Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System).
In the M-10X, LIFES is applied at reference scale to:
suppress distortion without overdamping
maintain dynamic freedom under real-world loads
preserve timing and phase accuracy
This allows the amplifier to sound fast and authoritative, yet never mechanical or stiff.
Listening Experience
The Luxman M-10X sounds immovable.
Bass is deep, firm and perfectly controlled. The midrange remains open and stable, even during dense musical passages. High frequencies extend cleanly, without edge or glare.
What listeners notice most is:
loudspeakers sounding easier to drive
complex music retaining structure
dynamics scaling effortlessly
a strong sense of composure at all volumes
The amplifier never draws attention to itself — it simply makes everything else perform better.
Power & Loudspeaker Control
While the M-10X delivers substantial output power on paper, its real strength lies in current delivery and load stability.
It remains composed with:
low-impedance loudspeakers
complex crossover designs
large-scale dynamic swings
This makes it an ideal choice for reference-grade passive loudspeakers and demanding high-end installations.
Design & Build Quality
The M-10X follows Luxman’s modern reference design language:
brushed silver aluminium front panel
large, illuminated VU meters with precise needle movement
rigid, resonance-controlled chassis
carefully separated internal sections for power and signal
Everything about the M-10X communicates precision, restraint and permanence.
System Integration
The M-10X is designed as a cornerstone component:
balanced and unbalanced inputs
stereo power amplifier configuration
ideal partner for Luxman C-10X or CL-1000
equally at home in passive or active-speaker-based systems
It is built to disappear behind the music — while remaining utterly dependable.
Why We Selected the M-10X at Authentic High End
We selected the M-10X because it represents Luxman’s highest expression of solid-state power amplification.
In our Brussels listening rooms, it consistently proves that true power does not shout. It anchors a system, allowing music to unfold with authority, scale and emotional clarity.
For listeners building a no-compromise system, the M-10X is a reference point.
The pinnacle of Luxman’s integrated amplifier design
The Luxman L-509Z represents a clear step beyond the traditional idea of an integrated amplifier.
As the premium model of Luxman’s Z-Series, it is designed as a “single-chassis separates” solution — bringing reference-level preamplifier and power amplifier technology together in one meticulously engineered enclosure.
At Authentic High End, we consider the L-509Z a true end-point product: an integrated amplifier for listeners who want the musical authority and refinement of separates, without the complexity that usually comes with them.

At Authentic High End, Boazu 2 represents one of the purest expressions of Lejonklou’s philosophy: remove everything that interferes with the signal, and the music becomes more alive. No menus. No modes. No options. Just music, amplified with authority and emotional clarity.
Why ZERO Features?
The idea behind Boazu was born in 2015, when Fredrik Lejonklou began questioning a long-held assumption: that sensitive low-level analogue signals must always be separated from high-current power amplification.
With new ideas on how to combine both successfully, he set out to design an integrated amplifier that could outperform traditional pre/power combinations — not by adding clever features, but by removing them.
Boazu (named after the Sami word for reindeer) went through multiple iterations. Early prototypes included familiar conveniences: a phono stage, headphone output, pre-outs. Each was carefully tuned. Yet something was missing.
Listening sessions were shorter. The music didn’t fully take over.
So Fredrik did the opposite of what most designers would do:
he removed features, one by one.
Each step towards simplicity resulted in greater musical expression. When nothing unnecessary remained, Boazu finally had ZERO features — and it became not just different, but better.
Source First: The Core Principle
At the heart of Boazu 2 lies the Source First principle.
Source First recognises that the earliest part of the signal chain matters most. Musicians matter more than instruments. Recordings matter more than playback equipment. And within a hi-fi system, the source matters more than the amplifier, which in turn matters more than the loudspeakers.
Most systems — and most buyers — focus on speakers. But all listening experience shows that the closer you are to the source, the greater the musical impact.
In Boazu, this philosophy is taken literally.
Input Stage: Where the Music Begins
Boazu 2 has four analogue inputs — and they are the most important part of the amplifier.
Instead of using traditional input switching, Fredrik simplified the design by adapting the input stage of the Sagatun preamplifier. All four inputs are summed into a single, ultra-clean circuit. Whatever source is playing, it is passed directly and purely to the rest of the amplifier.
No input selector
No switching circuits
No signal degradation
There is nothing to choose, nothing to read, nothing to distract you.
You simply play music.
Volume Control: The Only User Function
After the input stage, the signal passes through an analogue volume control, identical in concept to the one used in Lejonklou’s reference preamplifiers.
This is the only user interaction on Boazu 2:
Volume up
Volume down
Mute
Accessible via the front panel or the supplied Lejonklou remote.
Every other function was removed — because each additional feature degrades the sound just a little. Remove enough “just a little” degradations, and what remains is something far more powerful: musical thrill.
Power Amplifier: Authority Without Aggression
Closely integrated with the volume control is a power amplifier section derived from the Tundra power amplifier.
High current capability
Exceptional control
Effortless drive of real-world loudspeakers
To make Boazu cost-effective without sacrificing musical integrity, component values are chosen just outside the extremely narrow selection window used for Tundra. The result retains the same character, timing and authority — without the cost escalation.
Boazu 2 uses:
A 1.1 kg copper heatsink (chosen over aluminium for its clear musical advantages: cleaner, better-timed bass)
Dual 100 W switch-mode power supplies, identical in concept to Tundra
The amplifier never sounds strained. It simply takes control and lets the music flow.
Listening Experience
Boazu 2 doesn’t impress by force.
It convinces by immersion.
Music starts easily, builds naturally, and holds your attention without effort. Rhythm is locked in. Dynamics feel proportional. Loudspeakers behave as if they suddenly make more sense.
Listening sessions stretch longer. Albums finish. Distractions fade.
That is the real achievement of ZERO features.
Why We Selected Boazu 2 at Authentic High End
Boazu 2 aligns perfectly with how we build systems at Authentic High End.
It respects the source. It refuses unnecessary complexity. And it delivers musical involvement that grows rather than fades over time. In our Brussels listening rooms, it repeatedly proves that less circuitry, when guided by listening, leads to more music.

Single-channel amplification, refined through listening
Lejonklou Tundra Mono 3 is a high-end mono power amplifier evolved through meticulous tuning and thermal control. Music-first Swedish design, curated by Authentic High End.
The Lejonklou Tundra Mono 3 is the result of more than a decade of focused development around one idea: a single channel, executed without compromise, sounds more alive.
The original Tundra Mono, introduced in 2013, was derived from the stereo Tundra power amplifier. While it already shared many of its strengths, the move to a single channel brought something more important than extra power: a clear step up in sound quality. Whether playing softly or loudly, music became more engaging, more expressive, and more convincing.
At Authentic High End, the Tundra Mono 3 represents the pinnacle of Lejonklou’s power amplification philosophy.
Why One Channel Sounds Better
Tundra Mono is not about headline specifications. Its advantage lies in how calmly and consistently it operates under musical load.
Three core design choices make the mono version fundamentally superior to the stereo Tundra:
1. Power Supplies Working in Comfort
The twin power supplies are of the same type as in the stereo Tundra, but in Tundra Mono they only have one channel to feed.
This allows them to run smoother, delivering cleaner and more stable voltages throughout the amplifier. Cleaner voltages mean a more stable foundation for music — especially during dynamic passages.
2. A Much Stronger Drive Stage
The drive stage that controls the output devices is five times more powerful than in the stereo version.
As a result, Tundra Mono is far less affected by how much current a loudspeaker demands at any given moment. This freedom from effort allows the amplifier to express musical dynamics and emotion more convincingly, without strain or hesitation.
3. Improved Thermal Stability
Cooling of critical components is significantly improved. This ensures stability when music transitions rapidly from silence to high output — a moment where timing and control are most easily lost.
From Tundra Mono to Tundra Mono 3
The second major evolution came with Tundra Mono 2, released in February 2015. This was a complete rework, focused primarily on thermal behaviour, which plays a decisive role in musical stability.
Key improvements introduced with Mono 2 — and carried forward into Tundra Mono 3 — include:
Copper cooling blocks replacing aluminium
Two pieces of copper with a total weight of 1.2 kg dramatically reduced temperature variations in all critical areas. Less thermal fluctuation means a more stable and predictable musical presentation.Torque-optimised clamping of output transistors
Output devices are clamped between the copper blocks using a spring-loaded mechanism that maintains constant pressure, regardless of temperature changes.Advanced Thermal Interface Material (TIM)
Thermal resistance between components and cooling blocks was reduced to one quarter of the previous value. Faster heat transfer results in audibly tighter, more solid bass and improved overall control.
Status Port & Trim: Long-Term Musical Consistency
In addition to internal refinements, the rear panel of Tundra Mono 2 and 3 received two important additions:
a Status Port
a Trim control
These allow compensation for variations caused by:
ambient temperature
ventilation (open rack vs closed cabinet)
long-term component drift over many years
Each pair of Tundra Mono amplifiers is supplied with a calibrated instrument and clear instructions. The trimming procedure is simple and ensures that the amplifier continues to perform at reference level in its specific environment.
Individually Tuned — No Exceptions
Every Tundra Mono 3 is individually fine-tuned.
This process combines precise measurements with extensive listening. An amplifier is not approved for shipment until it performs on par with Lejonklou’s internal reference. This level of attention ensures consistency, longevity and musical integrity across years of use.
Listening Experience
Tundra Mono 3 does not emphasise power or scale.
Instead, it delivers certainty.
Music feels alive at any volume level. Quiet passages remain expressive, while loud passages retain control and composure. Loudspeakers sound less stressed, timing remains intact, and the emotional message of the music comes through clearly and effortlessly.
System Integration
Mono power amplifier (one unit per channel)
Analogue RCA input
Designed to pair with high-quality preamplifiers and source-first systems
Ideal for demanding loudspeakers and reference-level installations
Once connected, there is nothing to configure — only music to play.
Why We Selected Tundra Mono 3 at Authentic High End
We chose Tundra Mono 3 because it reveals improvements upstream without adding anything of its own. Better sources, better setup and better recordings are immediately audible.
In our Brussels listening rooms, Tundra Mono 3 proves that control, stability and thermal discipline are not technical details — they are musical necessities.

Remote-controlled analogue stereo preamplifier
The Lejonklou Superkikkin is a remote-controlled analogue stereo preamplifier created for listeners who want to hear what their sources are truly capable of.
If you are currently using a digital volume control, Superkikkin is an eye-opener — or rather, an ear-opener. It restores weight, flow and musical intent that digital attenuation quietly erodes.
At Authentic High End, Superkikkin is one of the most convincing demonstrations of why a great analogue preamplifier still matters, even in modern digital systems.
From Kikkin to Superkikkin
Project Superkikkin started with a clear request:
create a better version of Kikkin.
The original Kikkin preamplifier, released in 2008, became highly regarded for its musical qualities and robust electronics. Many early units are still in daily use and remain sought after on the second-hand market — a testament to how well the design has aged.
For the new version, Fredrik Lejonklou set two goals:
Improve sound quality beyond the original Kikkin
Add a second line-level input
The single input of the original Kikkin had become a practical limitation — especially for listeners combining vinyl and digital sources. Superkikkin solves this while preserving everything that made Kikkin special.
Preserving Musical Harmony
Early experiments showed that Kikkin’s musical magic depended on a very specific combination of older film capacitors, some of which were already out of production back in 2008.
Fortunately, Fredrik had the foresight to buy a large stock after months of listening and sorting. These original capacitors form the heart of Superkikkin as well, preserving the harmonic coherence that defined the original design.
When the remaining stock was counted, it became clear that exactly 101 units could be built. With only one prototype needed to finalise the design, 100 Superkikkins were manufactured — no more.
Refined with Modern Precision
While musical harmony was preserved, key areas were refined using modern know-how:
Power regulation was redesigned using a solution derived from the Boazu integrated amplifier, providing a precise voltage reference for the digitally controlled sections
Circuit board layout was significantly tightened after 15 years of additional experience, audibly improving focus and timing
The result is a preamplifier that sounds cleaner and more precise than the original Kikkin, without losing its musical warmth and balance.
Two Inputs, Done the Right Way
Adding a second input proved more complex than expected.
Neither the electronic switching of Sagatun nor the input summing approach of Boazu suited the Superkikkin design. Instead, Fredrik chose a purely mechanical switch — but only after ordering and listening to many different types.
The best-sounding switch (also the most expensive) had minimal musical impact. It is mounted directly to the circuit board, adjacent to the input connectors, eliminating internal wiring — which would have degraded the sound more than the switch itself.
The switch is positioned discreetly at the rear. Switching sources becomes a natural gesture, often done while placing the needle in the groove.
Listening Experience
Superkikkin does not impress with spectacle.
Instead, it restores scale, density and musical flow — especially noticeable when replacing digital volume control. Music gains body. Timing tightens. Emotional cues become easier to follow.
Vinyl and digital sources both benefit, but the biggest surprise often comes from digital systems, where Superkikkin reveals just how much musical information was being lost before.
Listening sessions grow longer. Volume adjustments become less frequent. Music feels settled and complete.
Remote Control, Analogue Soul
Superkikkin is remote-controlled for convenience, but the signal path remains fully analogue.
Volume adjustments are precise and repeatable, without introducing the artifacts associated with digital attenuation. This combination of usability and purity makes Superkikkin unusually satisfying in daily use.
Recognition
In the summer of 2024, Superkikkin received a highly favourable review in the French enthusiast magazine VUmètre No. 54, confirming what many listeners had already discovered: this is a special preamplifier.
Why We Selected Superkikkin at Authentic High End
Superkikkin aligns perfectly with our philosophy.
It respects the source. It avoids unnecessary complexity. And it delivers musical engagement that becomes more obvious the longer you listen. In our Brussels listening rooms, it consistently proves how transformative a great analogue preamplifier can be — even in modern, streaming-centric systems.

Reference all-analogue headphone amplifier
The Lejonklou Giella ∏ is an all-analogue headphone amplifier with a single purpose:
to give you a thrill when listening to music.
Not accuracy for its own sake. Not features. Not convenience.
Giella ∏ exists to make music gripping, meaningful and emotionally convincing through headphones.
At Authentic High End, we consider Giella ∏ a reference for serious headphone listening — not as an alternative to loudspeakers, but as a complete musical system in its own right.
Why “Giella” — Your Headphones Need a Language
Giella means “language” in Sami.
That choice is deliberate. Headphones do not automatically communicate music in a meaningful way. They need an amplifier that understands how to translate electrical signals into phrasing, rhythm and emotional intent.
Giella ∏ was created to give headphones that language — so music stops sounding reproduced, and starts sounding expressive.
Designed by Listening, Not by Spec Sheets
Designed by Fredrik Lejonklou, Giella ∏ follows the same discipline as all Lejonklou products:
every decision is validated by listening and comparison.
Electronic components are individually measured and selected into tolerances that cannot be bought off the shelf. Specific combinations are chosen after hundreds of comparative listening tests, always asking the same questions:
What makes the music more gripping?
What reduces involvement?
What keeps you listening longer?
Only the answers that served the music survived.
From Giella to Giella ∏: A Necessary Evolution
Project Giella began in 2014.
The first complete design was simpler and significantly less expensive than the final product. By the summer of 2020, the circuit had been refined as far as it would go — technically excellent, enjoyable to listen to, but not thrilling.
That wasn’t enough.
Fredrik redesigned the amplifier using a different set of components and adopted the power supply architecture from the Entity Moving Coil phono stage. This transformed Giella into something fundamentally different. After months of tuning, it became an amplifier he used every day.
When Giella was introduced in December 2020, early feedback was overwhelmingly positive — with one important exception. Some extremely current-hungry headphones revealed limits in bass control at very high volumes.
That feedback was taken seriously.
Work resumed, and only stopped when the amplifier became both more powerful and more musical.
The result was Giella ∏, introduced in March 2021.
Almost all original Giella owners chose to upgrade — a clear indication that the musical gains were unmistakable.
Purely Analogue — By Choice
There is no DAC and no digital circuitry inside Giella ∏.
This is not a limitation, but a deliberate decision. The absence of digital elements allows the analogue signal path to reach a higher level of refinement without unnecessary cost or compromise.
Giella ∏ is designed to reveal the quality of your source. The better the source and the headphones, the greater the musical difference becomes.
Listening Experience
Giella ∏ does not exaggerate detail or create artificial space.
Instead, it delivers meaning.
Music flows naturally. Rhythms lock in. Dynamics arrive with intent rather than force. Headphones feel less like transducers and more like a direct connection to the performance.
This is an amplifier that encourages long listening sessions — not because it sounds “impressive”, but because it makes music hard to turn off.
Power & Compatibility
Giella ∏ can drive any pair of dynamic headphones, including demanding, current-hungry designs, with authority and stability.
It remains composed at higher listening levels and retains control in the bass, even when the music becomes complex or intense.
More Than a Headphone Amplifier
In addition to its headphone output, Giella ∏ features left and right analogue line outputs.
These allow Giella ∏ to function as a high-quality analogue preamplifier, feeding a power amplifier and loudspeakers. This makes it possible to build a compact yet deeply engaging system — ideal for an office, studio or second listening space.
Why We Selected Giella ∏ at Authentic High End
We selected Giella ∏ because it treats headphone listening with the seriousness it deserves.
It does not chase trends or features. It focuses entirely on musical communication. In our Brussels listening rooms, Giella ∏ consistently proves that headphone listening can be every bit as emotionally involving as a carefully set up loudspeaker system.

Key design decisions include:
a fully discrete analogue signal path
an oversized, high-current power supply
short, direct signal routing
zero digital circuitry
There is no built-in DAC and no phono stage. This is intentional: every resource is dedicated to driving loudspeakers with precision and authority.
High-Current Power Architecture
The Aethos is engineered to deliver exceptional current capability, ensuring:
stable performance into complex loads
confident control of bass drivers
composure during dynamic peaks
Rather than sounding aggressive, the Aethos remains calm and controlled, even at realistic listening levels.
Listening Experience
The Rega Aethos sounds:
powerful yet relaxed
rhythmically locked-in
dynamically effortless
open and unforced
Music gains scale and physical presence, while timing and phrasing remain precise. The amplifier does not push itself forward — it simply allows the system to breathe.
Build Quality & Everyday Use
The Aethos reflects Rega’s commitment to durability and usability:
substantial aluminium chassis
clean, understated design
high-quality controls and remote handset
robust internal layout for long-term reliability
Despite its performance ambitions, it remains a fit-and-forget amplifier.
System Integration
The Aethos is designed for advanced systems:
ideal partner for external phono stages and DACs
excellent match with Rega Planar 8, Planar 10 and Naia
suitable for demanding loudspeakers and large rooms
At Authentic High End, the Aethos is often recommended when clients want to step into true high-current amplification without moving to separate pre- and power amplifiers.
Why We Selected the Aethos at Authentic High End
We selected the Aethos because it embodies Rega’s belief that:
power and musicality are not opposites.
It delivers:
authority without aggression
control without sterility
scale without loss of timing
For many listeners, the Aethos represents the endgame integrated amplifier.
The ultimate Rega integrated amplifier — absolute authority, zero distraction
Rega Osiris Product Introduction
The Rega Osiris Reference is the most ambitious integrated amplifier Rega has ever designed.
It exists to answer a very specific question: how far can an integrated amplifier be pushed before separates become unavoidable?
The answer, in the case of the Osiris, is remarkably far.
At Authentic High End, the Osiris Reference is positioned as a true endgame amplifier — for listeners who want maximum authority and control, without fragmenting their system into multiple boxes.
Positioning Within Rega
The Osiris Reference sits:
at the absolute top of Rega’s integrated amplifier range,
above the Aethos,
just below Rega’s reference separates (Mercury & Solis).
It is designed for:
reference-level loudspeakers
large listening rooms
systems where the amplifier must never be the limiting factor
listeners who want ultimate performance in a single chassis
Design Philosophy: Power, Stability and Musical Truth
Rega designed the Osiris with no interest in feature count and complete focus on amplification quality.
Core principles include:
a fully discrete analogue signal path
massive linear power supply with exceptional current reserves
ultra-short signal routing
extreme mechanical rigidity and grounding discipline
There is no DAC, no phono stage and no digital processing. Every resource is devoted to pure amplification.
Extreme Current Delivery & Loudspeaker Control
The Osiris Reference is engineered to deliver extraordinary current capability, allowing it to:
remain stable into complex loudspeaker loads
control bass drivers with absolute authority
remain composed during extreme dynamic swings
Rather than sounding forceful or aggressive, the Osiris delivers power with calm inevitability.
Listening Experience
The Rega Osiris Reference sounds:
effortlessly powerful
rhythmically absolute
dynamically unconstrained
neutral yet emotionally gripping
Music expands in scale without losing focus. Timing remains intact, even during dense passages, and the amplifier never draws attention to itself — it simply gets out of the way.
Build Quality & Everyday Use
Despite its reference ambitions, the Osiris remains a practical amplifier:
heavy-gauge aluminium chassis
understated, purposeful design
reference-grade control interfaces
supplied reference remote handset
It is built for decades of daily use, not occasional admiration.
System Integration
The Osiris Reference is designed for no-compromise systems:
ideal partner for external reference phono stages and DACs
perfect match with Rega Planar 8, Planar 10 and Naia
suitable for the most demanding loudspeakers
At Authentic High End, the Osiris is typically demonstrated in systems where everything else is already resolved, and the amplifier must simply deliver.
Why We Selected the Osiris Reference at Authentic High End
We selected the Osiris because it demonstrates something rare:
an integrated amplifier that does not feel like a compromise.
It offers:
reference-level authority
absolute musical timing
simplicity of ownership
longevity and reliability
For listeners who want the best Rega can do in a single box, the Osiris Reference is the destination.
Absolute control at the heart of a reference system
Rega Mercury Product Introduction
The Rega Mercury Reference is the control centre of Rega’s no-compromise reference system.
Designed to work in perfect synergy with the Solis Reference power amplifiers, Mercury exists for one reason only: to pass the musical signal unchanged, intact and perfectly timed.
Unlike integrated amplifiers, a reference preamplifier must add nothing and remove nothing. With Mercury, Rega applies decades of analogue expertise to achieve exactly that.
At Authentic High End, the Mercury Reference is positioned for listeners who want ultimate transparency and control, and who accept no weak links in their system.
Positioning Within Rega
The Mercury Reference sits:
at the absolute top of Rega’s preamplifier range,
above all integrated amplifiers,
as the natural partner to Solis Reference power amplifiers.
It is intended for:
reference-level systems
listeners who demand total neutrality and timing precision
systems where amplification must scale effortlessly
users ready to move beyond integrated designs
Design Philosophy: Nothing Added, Nothing Taken Away
Rega approached the Mercury with a single guiding principle:
the preamplifier must never become audible.
Key design choices include:
a fully discrete, all-analogue signal path
ultra-short signal routing
extremely rigid mechanical construction
meticulous grounding and power regulation
There is no DAC, no phono stage and no digital circuitry. Every design decision is focused on preserving the integrity of the incoming signal.
Volume Control & Signal Integrity
At the heart of the Mercury is a precision analogue volume control, engineered to:
maintain channel balance at all listening levels
preserve micro-dynamics
avoid the tonal shifts common to lesser attenuator designs
This ensures that the musical message remains coherent and stable, whether listening quietly or at realistic concert levels.
Listening Experience
The Rega Mercury Reference sounds:
completely neutral
effortlessly transparent
rhythmically exact
dynamically unrestricted
Rather than imposing a character, it allows the rest of the system to express itself fully. The result is a presentation that feels calm, confident and unforced, regardless of musical complexity.
Build Quality & Longevity
The Mercury Reference is engineered for decades of use:
substantial aluminium chassis
extreme mechanical rigidity
reference-grade internal layout
designed and built in England
It is a precision instrument, not a feature-driven component.
System Integration
The Mercury Reference is designed for no-compromise systems:
ideal partner for Rega Solis Reference
perfect match with Rega Planar 8, Planar 10 and Naia
designed for use with external reference phono stages and DACs
At Authentic High End, the Mercury is demonstrated in systems where every upstream and downstream component is already resolved.
Why We Selected the Mercury Reference at Authentic High End
We selected the Mercury Reference because it embodies Rega’s most disciplined engineering:
zero embellishment
absolute signal integrity
total system control
It is a preamplifier for listeners who want to hear exactly what their source delivers — and nothing else.
Unlimited power, absolute control — amplification without constraint
Rega Solis Product Introduction
The Rega Solis Reference represents the final stage of Rega’s no-compromise reference amplification system.
Designed to be partnered with the Rega Mercury Reference preamplifier, Solis exists to do one thing perfectly: convert a pristine line-level signal into effortless, unlimited loudspeaker control.
Solis does not aim to impress through specification excess or visual drama. Its ambition is far more demanding — to deliver absolute authority while remaining musically invisible.
At Authentic High End, Solis is positioned for listeners who want amplification that never imposes itself on the music, regardless of scale or complexity.
Positioning Within Rega
The Solis Reference sits:
at the absolute top of Rega’s power amplifier range,
above all integrated amplifiers,
as the natural partner to Mercury Reference.
It is designed for:
reference-level loudspeakers
large listening rooms
systems where current delivery and stability are non-negotiable
listeners who want the performance of separates without compromise
Each Solis is a true mono power amplifier, ensuring total channel separation and maximum control.
Design Philosophy: Current, Stability and Timing
Rega’s design brief for Solis was uncompromising:
the amplifier must never run out of control, current or composure.
Core principles include:
fully discrete analogue amplification
extreme current reserves
ultra-short signal paths
exceptional mechanical rigidity and grounding discipline
There is no feature circuitry of any kind — no DAC, no phono stage, no switching complexity. Everything exists to serve pure amplification.
Mono Architecture: Why It Matters
By using separate mono power amplifiers, Solis achieves:
complete electrical separation between channels
improved imaging stability
greater dynamic headroom
superior control of complex loudspeaker loads
This architecture allows music to scale naturally, without congestion or compression.
Listening Experience
The Rega Solis Reference sounds:
limitless in dynamic range
utterly controlled in the bass
rhythmically exact
calm and authoritative under all conditions
Even during demanding orchestral peaks or high-energy electronic music, Solis remains unflustered, allowing the music to unfold with realism and intent.
Build Quality & Longevity
Solis is engineered for long-term reference use:
heavy-gauge aluminium chassis
extremely rigid internal construction
robust thermal management
designed and built in England
It is built as a lifetime amplifier, not a product cycle.
System Integration
The Solis Reference is intended for no-compromise systems:
perfect partner for Rega Mercury Reference
ideal match with Rega Planar 10 and Naia
suitable for the most demanding loudspeakers on the market
At Authentic High End, Solis is demonstrated only in systems where the entire signal chain is resolved to reference level.
Why We Selected Solis Reference at Authentic High End
We selected the Solis Reference because it represents Rega’s ultimate amplification belief:
power must never dictate sound
control must never suppress emotion
authority must never become aggression
Solis does not impress by shouting. It convinces by never being the problem.
